Attachment Motivation

Attachment motivation is a desire to achieve success. Parents have a lot of influence in building attachment motivation by rewarding children with praise and pride for their accomplishments and positive actions.

According to Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, (Navid, p. 283), people are motivated by needs such as physiological  needs, safety needs, love needs, esteem needs and the need for self-actualization. Attachment motivation fulfills the individual’s esteem needs. But esteem needs, according to Maslow, cannot be achieved until the other needs such as physiological  needs, safety needs, love needs are achieved
